Samalona ISLAND

Samalona ISLAND is one of 11 islands in the city of Makassar. The island is very popular for snorkeling and diving. Coral reefs around the islands scattered in the garden under the sea forming a very beautiful with a variety of colorful fish.

The island is located in District Samalona Mariso, Makassar, South Sulawesi Province. Located 6.8 miles from the coast of Makassar.

Overview
Samalona is an island clean and beautiful. Its location is not too far from the mainland city of Makassar to this island as a place to vacation vaforit. The waters around the island is also an ideal place to snorkel and dive lovers.

The island is composed of broken rock and covered a variety of vegetation. Has white sand and clean large extend. While up to 20 meters out was the clear shallow waters. Sunrise and sunset is also a wonderful sight.

There are two ideal dive sites around the island, namely in the east and north of the island. The depth at two locations is approximately 30 meters. Coral reefs have a healthy and where colorful fish dancing. There are also turtles and stingrays.

Waters near the island Samalona, at a depth of 30 meters, there are shipwrecks bomber, Lancaster Bomber, which has turned into a rock and a residential ornamental fish habitat. Samalona waters once served at the battle sites of World War II.

Access
Samalona island can be done using a chartered boat from Pier POPSA. Travel to the Island Samalona only takes about 20-30 minutes.

Tariff
Rental rates are determined by agreement with the owner of the boat. However, the average Rp250.000,- left to go.
